Now don't get me wrong, I do love a challenging run but what we thinking when we decided to run the "Girls of Dracut" 10-mile loop TWICE?! This was shear nonsense! No one in their right mind would use this run as a distance training run. Well, I guess that goes to show you what kind of minds Jess and I have.
We set out from the usual spot at about 2:15 in the afternoon. We were not pushing our pace but we were set on putting in GOOD miles and not just miles for the sake of miles.
Here is how the miles went:
Mile 1: 10:00
Mile 2: 9:29
Mile 3: 10:09
Mile 4: 9:54
Mile 5: 9:57
Mile 6: 9:39
Mile 7: 10:08
Mile 8: 9:40
Mile 9: 9:39
Mile 10: 9:06 (oops)
Mile 11: 10:03
Mile 12: 9:56
Mile 13: 10:04
Mile 14: 10:03
Mile 15: 9:40
Mile 16: 10:37
Mile 17: 10:08
Mile 18: 9:41
Mile 19: 9:27
Mile 20: 8:16 (OOPS!)
TOTAL TIME: 3:15:25
(Hills are our friends . . . BS!)
Jess and I finished this dreadful run just in time for Linda to arrive for her speed workout at the gym and laugh at us for the incredibly dumb journey we embarked on because we skipped our 20 miler on Sunday. I will no longer be skipping any long runs. I refuse to do this 20 mile make-up run ever again.
