So as many of you have probably already read, this year, I would like to run two marathons. One this spring and this fall. As of right now, I am not sure which ones but as soon as I figure them out, you will know as well.
Last year was my first running and I completed my first marathon after 4 months of on and off training. Many runners would cringe at the thought of running a marathon without proper training but I was young and dumb so of course I accepted the challenge. I would say that in terms of preparation, I was prepared enough to finish the race but not prepared enough to run the entire length of the course. I was too inconsistent with my training and it definitely effected my marathon finish time.
This year, I am listening to my body and taking the time off when I need it and pushing myself when I am on my training runs. I am not going to overdo it so that I hurt myself but I certainly need to push harder this year. Tonight, I refereed 4 games and could feel the effect on my legs from the 30+ miles run so far this week.
To do this, I am constantly look for new inspirations. Today I found this for a woman who finish the Boston Marathon. It is amazing. I think it is a great piece that makes you really enjoy each mile.
Enjoy!
(So, who's making me signs for my next marathon?)
