January 25th - Training - Manchester, NH - 3.1

After spending the day in elementary school, I needed a nap. Before you know it, it was late and I had to have dinner. Made a quick dinner before receiving some of the greatest text messages I have recently received. It went a little something like this:

Jess: Hey. . . Will u b at the fudgcicle on Sat morn?
Me: Yes
Jess: Ok. Good! I have some paperwork 4 u . . . . .  I think you will like it. (Jess discussed with me the opportunity to "potentially" run Boston at the BP 16 Miler)
Me: OMG! Really? So excited!
Jess: We r excited 2 give u the waiver!
Me: Thank you!

Immediately my heart started racing. Since I started running last year, I have wanted to run THE Boston Marathon. It is one of worlds most prestigious, historical, and well known marathons in the world. I immediately laced up the shoes and put in a quick 5K as sleeping was no longer an option.

I ran the Derryfield Country Club 5K loop on slushy roads but it was definitely needed as I simply could not get my heart to stop racing. This will be a night that I will remember for a long time!

(What will you be going April 18th?)
