Today's shipment was my new running/race shoes. After hearing about how great Fil and Jason's Saucony ProGrid Kinvara Running Shoes were, I had to get a pair for myself to try and today was the day they finally arrived. I arrived home at about 3:15 PM to see the box sitting on my doorstep and just knew by the size of it, it was my shoes.
I had to give them a try! I quickly brought the box into the house and grabbed the nearest knife (they certainly didn't skimp on the type) and opened the package. I grabbed a hold of the red and brown Saucony box inside the shipping box and then just threw the extra box on the ground. I hadn't even opened the box yet and the first thing I noticed was that the shoe box was light! Did they only ship one shoe?! Oh no!
I quickly open the box to thankfully see that there were two neon yellow running shoes inside! I quickly pull the paper out of the shoe like a kid on Christmas just so I could try the shoe on. THEY FIT PERFECTLY!
I quickly get changed and put my banana shoes (what my brother calls them) and run out the door. Fil and Jason were right, these shoes are great. I know, I couldn't believe it either after going through Fil's distance evaluation skills on our Saturday run with Tony!
These shoes are an ultra minimal neutral running shoe. I have never run with this type of shoe before and let me tell you, I LOVE IT! I put in 6.5 miles in ~53 minutes which was quick for a training run but it wasn't the time it took that surprised me. It was the comfort. I felt comfortable and agile in this shoe. So comfortable that I can see me purchasing a few pairs of this shoe so that I have them for a long time to come.
Now, it is on to some grad school homework. I wish I could just go out for another run. . .

Are these the Saucony Kinvara?
ReplyDeleteKen,
ReplyDeleteYes, they are the Yellow Saucony ProGrid Kinvara Running Shoe! I got them today and they felt great.
now you just need to get a banana costume to match and you'll be golden... well actually you'd be yellow but we won't get into that... but I bet you could sneak in as a Somerville Road Runner lol!!! run a race in that costume and right their name on the shirt but run really slow haha!!! jk
