January 12th - Snowmageddon - 3.1

After shoveling the driveway three times today, I was dying to get out for a run but motivation was low. Now, I do not have access to a treadmill (Wussmill) nor would that matter for the only way to run, in my opinion, is to get out there and brave the elements. Tonight might not be the night . . .

After talking with fellow GLRR member and future marathoner Deric, it was decided that we were going to just do it (Nike, go ahead and sue me, I have nothing)! We both strapped on our reflective vest and put in our miles for the day.

Deric managed to get 3.5 miles in while I got my 5K. Luckily for Deric he saw zero cars on his run as he ran around his neighborhood in Hudson. I, myself, living in Manchester was one of the few people on the road. Apparently, not many people wanted to even think about being outside driving, let alone running! A grand total of 48* cars/trucks/plows/spaceships/snowmobiles passed me on my run, which in Manchester equates to NO ONE.

I did not want to try my new Injinji socks on a night like tonight and will report on those tomorrow. Tonight certainly was a quiet but slippery run if I do say so myself.

(Duh?!)

*Yes, I did count them because I wanted to see how many other idiots were taking their lives into their own hands.
